If you are in Quepos..

 

Ok, once you’ve arrived to Quepos, you can breath a sigh of relief, you’re almost here. All you need to do now is catch the local bus which runs from the Quepos bus station to Manuel Antonio National Park every 20 minutes. The bus fare is 305 colones, about $0.554USD. Then, just keep your eyes open for the bus stop next to the Manuel Antonio Football (soccer) field. It’s a pretty popular stop and with the help of our map it should be relatively easy to spot. Directly across the street from the field you will see a super market , we’re located right below them. So, follow the arrow pointing down the stairs to the Backpackers Manuel Antonio front desk and there you are sure to be greeted by a smile and a kind word of welcome.

 

Coming to Quepos...

Travel to the area is easy and can be done in a number of different ways. Regularly scheduled air service is available through Sansa Airlines, the flight takes 20 minutes. It is a three and a half hour or more, drive by car or bus from San José depending on the weather and traffic.

Direct buses leave from Coca Cola bus terminal in San José three times a day. These are large, comfortable Mercedes buses. The trip from San Jose takes around 4 hours regardless of the type of transportation. And keep in mind that the bus ride only costs about $5, when the taxi drivers try to talk you into a 60 dollar ride.

If you are renting a car it is advisable to rent a 4X4 vehicle because certain sections of the road can be difficult.
Bus service between Quepos' main terminal and the national park departs every half hour from 5:00 am. till 10:00 pm.
